A quick read that I could not put down. Natalie is the definition of perfection, she is blonde, perky, top salesperson and liked by all in the office. She even puts on an annual fundraiser for a childhood friend who had cerebral palsy. Dawn on the other hand is a nerdy accountant with a special love for turtles who just wants to be her friend.
We travel through this novel following Natalie’s point of view when she shows up to work one day to find her incredibly punctual coworker is not in her cubicle. She makes the decision to swing by her house and check on her. She is stunned to find a blood drenched living room that wrenches a scream from her lips and an immediate call to the police.
As we follow the investigation into Dawns disappearance and presumed murder, where Natalie is quickly becoming a person of interest, we are also granted a view into the last few months of the relationship between Dawn and Natalie. We begin to see this side of Natalie that is not so perfect as we read the emails from Dawn to her cross-country best friend Mia. Natalie is horrified for her coworker and even more scared that someone is trying to pin the presumed murder on her. This novel is a real who done it with a twist I never saw coming. You never know who to trust and are left shocked on multiple occasions.
